A Gorgeous Spring Wedding Captured with Fine Art Photography

What a lovely day in Spring when Rebecca and Dan tied the knot! The sun was shining and it was a relatively warm day in the month.

It was a joyful gathering seeing close friends coming together from different part of the world, after the wedding was rescheduled multiple times due to Covid-19 circumstances. Even though travel was still limited and under restrictions, it didn’t deter guests coming from shores afar.

Wedding Photography Starting from Bridal Preparation

I joined the early part of the day as Rebecca and close family members started their bridal preparations, sharing chats and laughter while having their makeup applied and hair styled. As the couple were in the middle of moving house, I suggested them to rent a light and airy apartment on their wedding day for a great photo setting. The tall windows, high ceilings, outdoor garden and plenty of sunlight all helped to make the bridal preparation photos special. Rebecca’s wedding dress was super gorgeous and elegant with gold glitters – I loved the details of the glitter reflecting in the sun light. Her mother’s dress was in a matching gold tone too!

Wedding Ceremony

A limousine took the bridal party to their wedding venue Trafalgar Tavern, a beautiful waterfront Victorian Grade-II listed mansion located in Greenwich that overlooked River Thames and Canary Wharf. The couple’s exchanged their vows under a romantic flower arc covered in roses and dalia, with the river sparkling in the back drop.

Wedding Portraits

After being greeted and congratulated by guests, the couple and I took some time in the neighbourhood to take some wedding portraits, where historical buildings and River Thames form the backdrop. Even their beloved pet joined us for the final few photos!

Further Celebrations

The day continued with more free flow champagne and celebrations, interluded with brilliant speeches by the groom and best man as the sun set. A live band set off the beat for the night’s entertainment. It was such a very joyful day to record!

Tips for Wedding Couples in Their Wedding Preparation

  • It is best to talk to your wedding photographer about your timing of the day before finalising your agenda. At certain times of the day, lighting may not be ideal for outdoor photo captures
  • Check with your wedding planner or photographer where is a good place for top–table to ensure the lighting works for your events!
