Do you ever think about pampering yourself and the important people in your lives with a makeover portrait photo shoot experience, creating legacy family portraits that are both glamourous and memorable?
I had the honour to photograph Jade and her family in several occasions ranging from baby new born stage to key birthdays. I suggested to her this year to have a girls’ only multi-generation photo shoot in glamour style. She is particularly close to her Nan (grandmother) whom she grew up with. A set of photos of her with Nan and her daughter mean a lot to all of them.
We started with discussing the colour tone and clothing style to dress the girls in and we agreed on a pink to purple tone. We chose a pencil dress from our photography studio’s wardrobe collection for Nan which was both elegant and flattered her physique, while Jade brought in romantic flowy dresses with tulle for both her and the little one. The matching colour tone with variation in dress style worked really well in harmony as a combination.
Styling, makeup and hair, posing, lighting and photographic skills all contribute to success of a photo shoot and help result in stunning images. We pampered Nan with a full makeover once the girls arrived in the studio, and provided Jade and her daughter Leila with mini-makeovers so everyone was camera ready and feeling fabulous before the photo shoot started.
Nan was a bit camera shy at first but warmed up as the photo shoot progressed. The photos come to life with the little one interacting with her mother and grandmother, and we ended up with a set of gorgeous photos that became priceless heirloom possession of the family. All three of them just looked too stunning together!
Words from Jade: “I loved coming in and spending the morning with my Nan and daughter, feeling our best most glamorous selves, creating beautiful moments and memories. Thank you to Belinda for capturing these!”
